Uganda Gorilla trekking & Wild life Safari is remarkably exciting. Travelers with immense love for trekking the giant ape-Mountain Gorilla will find it fulfilling. There is opportunity to view other wildlife like the unique tree climbing lions in the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

As part of the 9 Day Uganda Gorilla trekking& Wildlife Safari, tourists have chance to interact with Bwindi community through the community walk ( http://www.bwindiforestnationalpark.com/nature-walk.html ). This is an important aspect of responsible and sustainable tourism. This is a direct way  of giving back to the community hence encouraging wildlife and habitat conservation.

You will then visit Uganda’s second largest National park and one of the most popular tourist destinations. Queen Elizabeth national park has inexhaustible Wildlife, bird, primate species. The park also has numerous crater lakes and the renown Kazinga Channel.

9 DAYS UGANDA GORILLA TREKKING & WILDLIFE SAFARI

 

DAY 1: ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO HOTEL

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Pick up and transfer to Hotel for Overnight.

 

DAY 02: ENTEBBE  TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK TRANSFER

After an breakfast and briefing, The Driver/Guide  takes you on a great journey to Kisoro in south-Western Uganda. En-route make numerous stops to refresh but also appreciate the several lovely sites and people along the over 9 hour journey.

Have lunch stop Mbarara after which you will proceed to cool and quiet Bwindi for a gorilla trekking experience the next day

 

DAY 3: GORILLA TREKKING ACTIVITY

Get briefing from UWA ( http://www.ugandawildlife.org/ ) staff about gorilla etiquette. Embark on a rigorous gorilla Trekking experience that will last between 1-7hours.

Once found, you will be allowed to enjoy company of the world’s most sought after primate for one hour.

You shall then retire to your to lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

 

DAY 04: FOREST NATURE WALK – BWINDI FOREST

Tourist has the opportunity to undertake a full day trekking, accompanied by our local guides through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest one of the most diverse habitats on earth and home to over 120 species of mammals, 200 tree species, and more than 50 reptiles.

The forest Nature walk is great for tourists that wish to brace themselves with Nature, wildlife and Habitats. The walking distance can be as long as 15km.

You will then retire to Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

 

DAY 05: GORILLA TREKKING AND COMMUNITY WALK

Have breakfast and be briefed by UWA Guide about Gorilla trekking. You will pass through knotted vegetation, and steep valleys hence need to carry the right gear for your trekking experience.

Bwindi has has rich diversity of mammals and plants. While known for Gorilla trekking, one can also track Chimpanzees at the same time. Indeed it’s a privilege and fantastic opportunity to get close these gentle giants.

In the Evening you will visit the local communities around the forest and interact with the people.

 

DAY 06: BWINDI TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK VIA ISHASHA SECTOR

After breakfast you will depart from the rain-forest and drive to the rich Savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. En’route you will stop to view the tree climbing lions of the Ishasha sector. The Ishasha sector of QENP is mostly known for its famous tree climbing lions that sometimes lie about in the branches of the native fig trees.

The Ishasha area is also rich with other wildlife including warthog, water buck, bush buck, leopard, Ugandan kob, elephants, countless bird species and even the rare giant forest hog.

 

DAY 07: GAME DRIVE IN QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Morning Game drive and return to the Lodge for Breakfast. Depart from lodge with packed lunch to Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Mweya Penisular) overlooking Lakes George and Edward, to enjoy  two hours of Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.

This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for photography, animal and bird watching at close range; over 606 birds species have been recorded in this park and most notably along the Kazinga Channel.

 

DAY 08: FULL DAY QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you will head for a Game Drive along the Kasenyi tracks in search of animals like: Lions, cape buffalos, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, Mangoose, kobs and if  lucky, you will also see leopard.

Proceed to the Kyambura Gorge to track Chimpanzees. The Kyambura gorge is within the Savannah sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This 16 kilometre long scar in the earth is home to a group of habituated chimpanzees, baboons, monkeys and birds.

The gorge is about 100m deep to where organized chimpanzee tracking can be conducted; bird watching, nature walks and sightseeing can be undertaken from the visitors centre.

After tracking, return to the Lodge for an evening Game drive in the Kasenyi Plains.

 

DAY 09: SCHEDULED FLIGHT TO ENTEBBE

After breakfast proceed to Mweya Peninsular for scheduled flight to Entebbe – relax at Papyrus Guesthouse and later transfer for evening flight.
